If you want a fun and exciting place to visit in Maryland, try to check out Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. This is the home of the Frederick Keys, a collegiate summer baseball team of the MLB Draft League, and the Spire City Ghost Hounds, a professional baseball team of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. In this blog post, I will tell you more about the history, cultural significance, points of interest, exciting facts, and advice for visitors of this stadium.

Nymeo Field

History

Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium was opened in 1990 and seats 5,400 fans. It is named after Harry Grove, one of the founders of the Frederick Hustlers, a professional team that existed between 1915 and World War II. The Grove family also donated $250,000 to the city to help build the park and were thus honored in naming it.

The stadium has hosted various events besides baseball games, such as concerts, wrestling shows, autocross races, and the 2005 Class A all-star game.  It has also undergone several renovations to improve its facilities, such as a new field, seating section, suite level restoration, lighting system, scoreboard, video board, and audio-visual equipment.

In 2013, the Frederick Keys signed a deal with Nymeo Federal Credit Union to sell the stadium’s naming rights while retaining “Harry Grove” as part of the name.  In 2023, the stadium welcomed a new tenant, the Spire City Ghost Hounds, who joined the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.
